Abstract: This paper reports the primary results of a design science research study to deal with the problem of IT security escalation in Swedish government and private organizations. A maturity capability escalation model was used to perform evaluations of two of Sweden's four largest banks. The evaluation indicated that banks were aligned with the current Swedish regulations minimal requirements for IT security incident handling and where on a level 3 of a 5 level model.
